Steps:

1. Place 2x4 bracing under the open garage door for support.

2. Remove old nuts holding broken hardware (figure A). Spray some penetrating oil to help loosen rusty, stubborn bolts. Be sure to wear eye protection.

3. Remove the old bracket, metal strip and hardware (figure B).

4. Test fit the new bracket to see if you can use any of the existing bolts (figure C). If necessary, drill new holes for bolts.

5. Mark the holes where you will need to drill for new bolts. Drill through the door.

6. Hammer bolts in from exterior side of door (figure D).

7. Position wheel into new bracket and position bracket so the wheel is cradled in the track (figure E).

8. Attach brackets with nuts and tighten after the wheel is positioned correctly.

9. Repeat the process on the other side of the door.
